The age of Modification

The entire country is in the throes of " modification." No, not alteration...this is the virtual deitification of one NaMo,also known as Shri Narendra Modi. From the newspapers to news channels to roadside conversations, Modi is everywhere.He rules the hearts and minds of the Indian polity.

It' s been many years since one has seen this kind of hero worship of a politician. Probably it has not happened since the days of the late Shri  Rajiv Gandhi. The newspapers adulate on his standing ovation in New York,they wax eloquent on the menu of the presidential dinner, which NaMo did not touch due to his Navratri "brat" , they gush on about how President Obama greeted NaMo saying "Kem Chho."

And there are the masses who hope that Modi is just the perfect solution to lead the country to better times. Such naive trust in a politician !

Of course, Gujarat has seen good growth under  NaMo. The blemishes of the Godhra riots seem to have been erased from the public psyche. And it' s Modi, Modi all the way.

What can we say? Other than, " Dear NaMo, enjoy while it lasts"?May the fall from grace suffered by Rajiv Gandhi, another politician hyped over and then cast apart, never be witnessed by your good self. And may the erstwhile chaiwallah who abandoned his wife, be like the brew which cheers the nation. Wah Taj! Wah Modi! Godspeed NaMo, and all the best!
